The reason that women actually look for men their own age is likely because they are looking for someone with resources and a real partner, dating men and women young just someone who is young and attractive.
The Nordic study also purports that women "control the market" when it comes to dating, as men are more unlikely than women to actually have sex with their ideal partner. This seems to make sense on a purely logistical level… there are only so many year-old women to go around.
But I would hardly say that this means that women are in "control" of the market. If most men would prefer to be with someone else, how does this mean that women are in charge?
